The Terms You Build Under

These terms govern your use of the Archie Connect API, the MCP server, the SDKs, and the CLI. Read them before you build. Using any of these surfaces means you accept them.

1. Who These Terms Bind

These terms form an agreement between you (the developer or the organization you represent) and Hey Archie. If you accept them on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it. Together with our Privacy Policy, they cover the Connect API, the MCP server, the SDKs, the CLI, and the developers portal (the “Developer Surfaces”).

2. Your Access

You access the Developer Surfaces through a real organization. Your access is scoped to the workspaces and clients your organization grants you.
API keys and OAuth tokens are credentials. Keep them secret, never embed a live key in client-side code or a public repository, and rotate any key you believe is exposed.
You are responsible for every call made with your credentials, including calls your own users or agents make through them.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Circumvent authentication, rate limits, credit caps, or the confirmation contract, or probe the surfaces for ways to do so.
Create organizations or keys to obtain free capacity you are not entitled to, or to resell access without a written agreement.
Submit unlawful content, content you have no right to process, or data you are contractually barred from sharing with a processor.
Use the surfaces to build a product whose primary purpose is to replicate or compete with Archie by extracting his outputs at scale.
Interfere with the service, other tenants, or the integrity of any audit log.

Professional judgment stays with you

Archie produces accounting work product. He cites his sources and shows his reasoning, but the people and firms using your integration remain responsible for reviewing his output and for the professional and regulatory decisions they make on it.

4. Confirmations and Writes

Write actions that cross a risk threshold pause for human approval under the confirmation contract. You must not suppress, auto-approve, or hide these confirmations from the human who is accountable for the action. Surfacing the prompt_markdown to that person is a condition of using any write scope.

5. Your Data and Content

You keep ownership of the data you send and the content Archie produces for you. You grant Hey Archie the rights needed to operate the service: to process your inputs, generate outputs, maintain the audit log, and keep the service secure and reliable. How we handle that data is set out in the Privacy Policy.

6. Availability and Changes

We work to keep the service available and post incidents on the status page, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access on the developer tier.
We version the API and announce breaking changes under our versioning policy. Additive changes ship continuously.
We may update these terms. Material changes are dated and announced. Continuing to use the surfaces after a change means you accept the updated terms.

7. Suspension

We may suspend or limit access that threatens the service, other tenants, or the law, including credential abuse, a spend or usage anomaly, or a breach of these terms. Where practical we tell you why and how to restore access.

8. Warranties and Liability

The Developer Surfaces are provided on an “as is” basis to the extent the law allows. Archie's output is professional work product to be reviewed, not advice you may rely on without that review. Nothing here limits a liability that cannot be limited by law.
